Smirnoff® Red is bringing down the house at the Smirnoff® Red Legends Party this May. Wednesday, 16 May 2007 somewhere in Parktown Jhb. Tickets are not for sale to the public.

The concept, developed as a tribute to the South African legendary House DJ’s, Smirnoff® decided to pay homage to DJ’s who not only have helped establish the biggest music genre in the country, but have extensively supported the brand since its inception into the market 3 years ago, the best way they know how, by throwing them a party.

MTV base revealed the South African musicians who have won a place at MTV Alert with Motorola, Inc.

The out-of-this-world live music event taking place at Mary Fitzgerald Square in Newtown, Johannesburg on 16 September as part of the City of Johannesburg's 2006 Arts Alive initiative.

Since I saw the first advertisement on MTV Base, about the concert, I knew it would be hot. So like most women, I planned weeks in advance; I would wear my brown, cleavage accentuating top, blue jeans and comfortable shoes, simple! I was prepared and ready to get down.

AMU - THE LIFE, RAP AND DRAMA

"Amu started rapping at a very young age after he was inspired by a rap record bought by his father in the early eighties while living in the U.S.A. Born in Soweto he found it very hard to exercise his first love of “hip-hop”, because his peers thought it was a foreign art. But through all of this, giving up was never an option for this young man. Today he's considered one of the pioneers of South African hip-hop."

THE ROCK CONCERT 3

The Rock Concert series (say Thee Rock Concert) is a showcase of the best local rock, pop, punk and hip-hop bands in South Africa as well as a handful of “Tipped To Top” artistes. The Rock Concert 3 features Wonderboom, Tweak, Toxic Shame, The Finkelstiens, Soil 7t7, Skwatta Kamp, One 80, Jo Day, Cutting Jade and Caytie Marvelis and was hosted by 5FM's Barney Simon and Koula.
